I am inspired by this quote from Mary Ellen Mark.
It’s not when you press the shutter, but why you press the shutter.
My mission guides me in making photos when the voice inside me asks me to press the shutter.
My mission as a photographer is to tell stories that connect people, start conversations, shift perceptions, drive action.
Photography is the perfect medium for this. While my photos reflect my point of view (my story), my audience may have a different interpretation (their stories). We share our perceptions (start conversations) to learn more about each other and learn more about ourselves (shift perceptions). I believe this engagement between people drives action.
In the words of Maya Lin,
I try to give people a different way of looking at their surroundings. That’s art to me.
I accept selective assignments across multiple genres. I also volunteer for photo assignments that align with my mission. I’d love to hear from you if you’d like to hire me or if you can refer me for a photo assignment. Please contact me by filling out this form.
